Beauty Trends we Loved in 2016
Posted on January 06 2017
It's that time of the year where we walk down memory lane of some of the most fun, creative, and evolving beauty trends of 2016. From glitter everywhere to dripping nail art, we could not have predicted most of these amazing and dynamic trends. Here's a glance back at the beauty highlights of the year.
All that Glitters
Glitter has definitely been the highlight (no pun intended) of this year's beauty trends. As seen all over the SS17 catwalks and thanks to the release of Pat McGrath's glitter lip collection- this "crescendo of glitter on the catwalk" gave each of us permission to channel our inner diva!
No longer will you have to build a snowman to get away this fun trend! Blue lipstick made its way as a go-to trend as seen on Beyoncé, Olivia Palermo, and Rihanna this year. It has become so popular in demand that Maybelline created a "Blue for every Hue" tutorial which features an array of blue lipstick hues for every skin tone.
Chocolate Mauve Hair
While this trend found its way towards the latter of 2016 - it did not stop this luxurious combination of rose gold and deep brunette from being a winner. New York hair colorist Hannah Edelman created this gorgeous concept by blending natural hues of browns and with several pink tones. We love how the iridescent tones melt effortlessly into those chocolate hues.
Kylie Lip Kit Drip-Inspired Nail Art
Kylie Jenner is definitely leaving her mark as a makeup/beauty mogul. After the über success of her Lip Kits, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star launched her most anticipated Kylie Lip Kit Drip-Inspired Nail Art collection and beauty bloggers went wild - making this one of the most recognizable and iconic trends of the year!
