Keep Your Skin Looking Young With Sun Protection This Summer

stay young with these sun protection tips for this summer lotus lashes

It should come as no surprise to you that not protecting your skin from the sun ages you— and quick! But for all you sun goddesses out there, what is a girl to do? When you love the sun and getting a tan, but you start to notice those sun spots creeping in, you have to find a happy medium between your golden glow and taking good care of your skin.

This blog aims to give you a few tips on sun protection for summer without taking away your summer fun. It goes without saying that sunscreen is a must, especially if you are going to be in the sun for longer than 15 minutes. Here are some tips on other ways to keep your skin healthy while enjoying the sun.

  1. Don't Forget Your Scalp. Have you ever gotten a sunburn on the part in your hair? Ouch! And then when it peels, that is even worse! It's hard to put sunscreen in your part and along your hairline, so buy a spray-on sunscreen to add to your sunscreen regimen. In Style magazine recommends Supergroup Everyday UV Protection Spray.
  2. Lovely Lips. It is also easy to overlook your lips when applying sunscreen. Make sure you have a good SPF lip balm or chapstick you like to apply daily and especially while at the pool or the beach.
  3. Cool Off After. Taking a cool shower after being out in the sun helps prevent your skin from breaking out from excess sweating according to dermatologist Dr. Neil Sadick.
  4. Get a Cute Hat. Your face is the place where you are probably going to regret it the most if you allow the sun to damage your skin year after year. So just give in and wear a hat. You don't have to look like an old lady gardener. Find a cute hat that suits your style and keep those rays off your face.

Hopefully these tips help give you some ideas on how you can be proactive in protecting your face this summer. For more beauty and lifestyle tips, stay tuned to our blog here at Lotus Lashes.
