Secret Weapons You Can Add to Your Skin Care Routine

Regardless of whether we are younger or older, having great skin is important to all of us. Be it acne, redness, blackheads, dullness, oiliness, discoloration, wrinkles, and more, there are many things we can do that can give us a leg-up on our run-of-the-mill skin care routine.
A majority of us have dealt with some form of acne or another. Aside from the breakouts, the redness is one of the worst parts of it. There are two things that work really well with the treatment of acne flare-ups and both are super inexpensive and not to mention, all-natural. Chamomile is especially helpful in the treatment of redness caused by acne. Steep two chamomile tea bags, then leave to cool. You would use this the same way you would use a toner. After cleansing your face, apply the chamomile tea to the affected areas. You'll see a vast improvement as you use it daily. You'll want to store it in the fridge so that it will not spoil.
Another great treatment is not only good for the redness, but for the acne breakouts as well. Aloe vera has been used for centuries in natural health remedies, but did you know it can aid in acne as well? Once you've cleansed you face, apply some aloe vera (straight from the plant or store-bought) generously to the affected area. It's best to do this before bed, and sleep with it on so it can soak in and do its job, then simply rinse in the morning.
A great trick to clear up blackheads is probably hiding out somewhere in your kitchen right now. Baking soda is a great way to unclog and clear up your blackheads. You'll want to apply some heat to the affected areas (a really steamy towel works well for this, but be sure it's not too hot to burn!). Lay the towel on the area for at least 3-5 minutes, ensuring your pores are open. Create a paste made up of water and baking soda, and rub it gently onto the area. Let it sit a few minutes, them scrub (gently!) into the area. Rinse with cool water in ensure that the pores shrink back down. Do several times per week.
Coconut oil, along with several other oils, are very beneficial to keeping you dry skin healthy and moist. You would want to apply your oil before bed, after you've washed and toned. Other effective oils for you face include jojoba oil, maracuja oil, sweet almond oil, argan oil, grape seed oil, and macadamia oil.
Oily skin has plagued some of us, making it hard to apply certain cosmetics and having them stay, because they usually slide right off of your skin! A great product to reduce the oils on your skin is witch hazel. You can buy this at any drug store for under $3. It clears up your oiliness, without completely drying up your skin in the process. You can use this in place of your toner.
